Henry C. Tharpe, Jr. was born in Dublin, Georgia. Mr. Tharpe graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia. Henry was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 1974. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Tharpe is a member of the Conasauga Circuit Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Henry has served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia since 1977 and is a registered mediator.

Tharpe’s civic activities include service in various capacities for the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce, Dalton-Whitfield Hospital Authority, Whitfield Healthcare Foundation, and Rotary Club of Dalton. Henry is a past President of the University of Georgia Law School Association Council. He practices in the areas of litigation; banking; personal injury, including automobile accidents and wrongful death; contracts; business transactions; utilities; and eminent domain.
